I just had a chance to review the final agenda and list of attendees registered to attend the 6 Feb 2014 Cloudera Federal Forum. I am confident when I say this will be the most important, most action-oriented, mission-focused Data event in the DC area for 2014.
Attendees have registered from every branch of government and from most every agency I can think of. Some of the most highly regarded people from the integrator community have also signed up. And the technology community is supporting this event by sending senior executives and senior engineers and solution architects from the greatest tech firms in America.
As for the agenda, the day starts off with an update on some of the nation’s most significant challenges and most urgent mission needs regarding integrated information solutions with a presentation from David Shedd. David is the deputy director of DIA, but I regard David as a person who really transcends titles. He is an intelligence community professional who thinks with a team approach. His opening talk will no doubt set the tone and some key goals for discussion for the rest of the day. The rest of the day has a heavy focus on lessons learned being presented by people who have really delivered real working Big Data solution. This is absolutely a non-hype zone. Proven past performers and people who have a desire to share lessons learned with others are what you will see. You will also hear from the executive leadership responsible for leading Cloudera (including Tom Reilly, CEO of Cloudera, and Mike Olson, Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Cloudera). Many other engineers responsible for continuously improving Apache Hadoop and related capabilities will also be speaking and at the event.
Sponsors at the event include: AppFluent, Carahsoft, Centrifuge, ClearEdge Solutions, CTOvision.com (hey that’s us!), DataGuise, Koverse, Pentaho, Platfora and of course Cloudera (for our assessments on all those firms see CTOlabs.com).
So, putting all that together plus plenty of time for direct interaction between attendees means we have an incredible event in store for attendees.
