Recurring problems at GSA bring down another IT system, says OIG

Recurring problems of inadequate contract administration and oversight have felled yet another system at the General Systems Administration, says the GSA office of inspector general.

In a report dated July 20, the GSA OIG says the Acquisition Career Management Information System has poor functionality–so bad that the Homeland Security Department unilaterally in 2008 decided to stop using it, despite the system’s official status as the governmentwide acquisition workforce training and education database of record.
